What to Expect at your First Visit
We provide all of our new patients with a free orthodontic consultation which includes digital photos and xrays. Plan on this appointment taking about an hour since Dr. Curtis will be reviewing these photos and xrays and providing you with the best options for treatment. The good news is that by the time you leave our office you will know exactly what type of treatment is necessary, how much it costs and how long it will take.
Dr. Curtis agrees with the American Association of Orthodontics, it’s best for children to see an orthodontist by age 7. This doesn’t mean that they will be ready for braces. In fact, chances are that they won’t. It’s necessary to wait until there is proper growth and dental development (a fancy way to say we are waiting for certain baby teeth to fall out) before orthodontic treatment is recommended. But it’s important for Dr. Curtis to see young children and monitor their growth to help avoid more extensive, more expensive orthodontic options in the future.
These appointments are completely free of charge. We do not ask our patients to pay anything until the day they are ready to begin their orthodontic treatment.
